    • Proxy Port : 8080
    • Username : leave blank
    • Password : leave blank
  2. Download Operamini 4.2 Handler Browser
  3. Open your Opera mini handler and do the following changes in the Setiings:
    • Set Divein Settings as Default Settings For Opera Mini
    • Set http in Custom Field in your Opera Mini handler
    • Set Socket Server to http://203.115.112.5.server4.operamini.com OR http://10.124.72.171.server4.operamini.com
    • Keep Proxy Type as blank (Don’t Enter Anything in Proxy Server Field)
  4. Done!! Now use your free unlimited 3G service. Enjoy!!

6 Tips to Avoid Facebook Viruses and Spam Messages

Facebook, the biggest social network with 500 million users, provides an interface to hit an unsuspecting crowd with malware and viruses. These viruses aren’t very difficult to detect  if you are cautious enough. These Facebook viruses appear on your wall in forms of a bizarre or eye-catching stories and videos and once the user has clicked/liked the link, it is already late. The next step will be getting rid of your Facebook virus which is a time-consuming  process.  Its better to avoid spam messages and trojan viruses in the first place.

How to avoid it?

1. Think before you Act. Viruses on Facebook are sneaky. The hackers and cybercriminals who want your information know that Facebook users will often click on an interesting post without a moment’s thought. If a post sounds a bit over-the-top like a headline out of a tabloid, this is your first warning sign.

2. Try to avoid Links and videos with Catchy words like  “funniest ever,” “most hilarious video on Facebook,” or “you’ve got to see this.” Do some keyword research to see if the post in question comes up in a search engine with information about a current virus or trojan.

3. Check the poster of the Suspicious content. If you receive a message from someone you do not know, this is an obvious red flag. Facebook video viruses also tend to pop up in your news feed or on your wall from friends you haven’t talked to in a while. Unfortunately, it’s likely this friend has already fallen victim to the latest virus on Facebook. After clicking on the story themselves, the message was sent out to all of their friends as well.

4 Avoid messages that have been posted by multiple users as the virus spreads among your friends who were not so cautious. If a link with title such as “Sexiest video ever” shows up all over your feed from all kinds of people (perhaps friends you would not expect to make such a post), this is another warning sign. Similar direct messages are a likely variant of the notorious Facebook Koobface virus which has used this approach in the past.

5. Do not fall for the “typical” money-transfer schemes. Chat messages from friends needing funds will usually sound suspicious. Everything can’t be screened before posting, so money transfer scams and hoax applications still find their way on to Facebook. You should also avoid applications that claim to do a full “Error check” or fix security problems related to your profile.

6. Update your anti-virus software frequently. If you do accidentally click on a post before realizing it is a hoax, do not click on any further links or downloads. If it’s too late and you have already been infected, the Facebook virus removal process may be effortless if you have a good anti-virus program to catch the virus, trojan or other malware early on.

These were few important tips to safeguard your facebook account but your job isn’t done yet. Once you have detected that the link/post on your facebook wall is Malicious you should Mark it as SPAM so that the facebook support will stop it from spreading further and infecting other users.

How to get your own Rapidshare Premium Account

Everybody wants a personal Rapidshare Premium account but not all can afford it. If you are one of those people who can’t afford it or don’t want to ask your parent to buy you one then there are only 2 ways of getting a Rapidshare premium account. First one is to hack a Rapidshare premium account of some other user. Hacking a Rapidshare premium account isn’t that difficult. But Rapidshare guys are very smart. They provide users with a feature of security lock due to which you will need access to the unlock code for that account to change the password of that Rapidshare account. Thus you can only use that hacked account till the owner of that account changes the password. This one seems to be a temporary solution. Second way is to earn some easy bucks online and buy your own Rapidshare account. The second way may seem difficult at first but to tell you the truth its very easy.

Today I will show how you can earn money online and that too without much difficulty. Just follow the steps given below:

1. Create a Paypal Premium Account( Don’t Worry its free) . When asked for credit card details simply say cancel. You do not need to fill it.

4. Now the only problem is that the minimum payout limit for this website is 75 USD. But you can earn 1.25 USD on referring this website to your friend.

6. Suppose you have 500 friends on facebook and out of them only 10% register through your link then also you earn 62.5 USD which gets added to 27 USD that you had earned from surveys. Thus the total 89.5 USD crosses the Payout limit.

Update: Some people have a compliant that Awsurveys doesn’t pay them what they have earned and that it is a SPAM. I would like to tell you that I have already used this website earlier and I had received the payment every time. I am not saying that these guys are lying about their experience with Awsurveys but there are few reasons why they may not have received the payment. The only problem with this website is that it doesn’t communicate with the user if he is violating any terms and conditions instead of that it just cancels their payments. When you request some payout from this website, they have a policy to verify if the accounts that were referred by the user are not fraudulent and they remove the amount gained from these fraudulent accounts from the total amount in your account. Sometimes the reduced amount is less than the amount redeemed by the user and their harsh policy is to cancel the whole payment without even reimbursing the remaining amount. Now you might be thinking how to avoid this? One advice i would give you is to keep atleast 20-25 USD in excess when you are redeeming the amount. In this way you are making sure that even if there were 15 accounts which the website found to be fraudulent still the total wont get below the amount requested by you. Another condition is  of the maximum amount that one can redeem in a year. A user can redeem at max 550 USD in one year if you request for payout more than that then hey will just cancel that payment without reimbursing the money in your account. I already faced the latter one which indicates that I have atleast earned upto 550 USD.

How to Send free SMS Worldwide?

Free SMS using Google VoiceMost of you might have heard about Google Voice which provides great free VOIP service within USA. However, Google Voice is not free for people outside USA. When you try to visit Google Voice home page from anywhere but USA, it says that Google Voice is not available in your country. Today, we bring you a hack that will let you use Google Voice to send and receive free SMS anywhere in the world.

Requirements:

  • A smart Phone (iPhone, Blackberry or other smart phones)
  • Internet connection
  • Two Google Voice Accounts

Steps

If you have a smart phone you can download the google voice application for it. If Google does not have an application for your device you can still use web version which you can access from your phone’s web browser.

You will need a Google voice Account . If you are outside USA you can use a proxy such as hidelinkonline to create Google Voice account. Remember that you will need one account for each person that you want to send (or receive) SMS to (from). Google Voice comes with a USA phone number that you have the option to choose from host of numbers.

Once you have the accounts set up you can login to your phone using this information. The good thing is that this application works on GPRS too. Moreover, you can use GPRS without the special data plan for iPhone.

After you have logged into your application successfully, you can send SMS to any number in USA and Canada. Since all your friends now have a Google Voice Number you can sms them and they can reply back on your Google voice number. Your friends or partners need not be within the same country. They can be anywhere in the world. This is totally free SMS service for you.

Seven Steps to become a world class computer Engineer

I read the post by Abhishek Desai and found it very helpful so I am sharing it here. I bet it will be very helpful to Indian Computer Engineering Students.

Reasons for writing this post:

  • I feel I have not done enough to become a good computer engineer. May be I did not have someone who could guide me properly. We were only the second batch of Computer Engineering at Nirma Institute of Technology, Ahmedabad, so we had no mentors in the industry.
  • Second reason, may be we were not mature enough.
  • Third reason, 3 Idiots was not released at that time.
  • So this post is dedicated to all the fellow computer engineering students (especially in India) who are still having a good time by bunking the classes but not doing good enough to become a world class computer engineer otherwise.

But what can I do?

1. Have the right infrastructure

  • Get yourself a decent laptop. (I prefer Mac but any decent Dell laptop is also ok)
  • Get yourself a nice internet connection with highest speed available. (Take a cut from your pocket money if you have to but this is a must)
  • Get yourself an iPhone (I know it is expensive in India but you will have to use world class gadgets to become world class engineer)
  • Make your home or hostel room WiFi enabled. (This is not expensive. You will get a decent router in 2-3k.)
  • If you are not able to do any or all of the above things, don’t worry you can still become a good computer engineer. So hang on and keep reading.

2. Learn to use Google Reader

  • Google reader will become the best companion of yours for lifetime if you use it properly.
  • It is nothing but a cool RSS reader from Google using which you can subscribe to blogs to get latest updates and posts. So if you have a gmail account you are ready to go. What? You do not have a gmail account yet!! Go get one right now. Stop reading. Open a gmail account now and come back. I am waiting.
  • I am still waiting.
  • Ok great, so you have a gmail account now, good. Watch this video . It explains in plain english how to use google reader.

  • Software, Web Search Strategies, Wikis, Social Bookmarking, Social Networking, Blogs, Podcasting and Cloud computing on http://www.commoncraft.com/ (Now you understand why I told you get the fastest internet connection available?). You don’t have to see them all at once but do check them all and understand.
  • Done? Ok so you are ready to become a world class computer engineer now.
  • Now you understand Google Reader, so it’s time to subscribe to interesting blogs. Subscribe to following blogs.
  • There are many such blogs but to start with these are ok. You will keep finding other interesting blogs as and when you will come across some.
  • Getting used to read on computer takes time and patience so just keep reading it.
  • So I guess we are done with Google Reader part here. This means you have to open up Google Reader as soon you bunk the classes or as soon as you get the time to check your mails.

3. Academic Earth

  • Do you want to see how professors teach in Harvard and Stanford? Do you want to see how their lectures are conducted? You can now, we were not able to do that in our time.
  • Go to www.academicearth.org and you will see videos of actual lectures and courses of Harvard, Yale, Stanford. Now you know whose lectures to watch after bunking the classes or after getting back to home.
  • You do not want to miss the chance of studying in these universities without going to US to giving them millions in fees right? and guess what? Attendance is not compulsory here :)

4. Learn any web language quickly and start building

  • I would suggest PHP or Ruby. ASP.NET C# is also fine if you already know something about it.
  • And start building something on it. It can be anything. But start programming on web now. Most of you are never going to write a program C, C++ or COBOL in your lifetime. I would not advise against learning them though.
  • After you know something about web programming, read “Getting Real” from 37Signals.
  • Now again build something using whatever you learned from the above book.

5. Assume you are in Sillicon Valley

  • I know this sounds little weird but that’s the way it is.
  • The best of the minds in the world are there and you do not want to miss out on that right?
  • Thousands of things happen everyday in Sillicon Valley and you can remain updated by reading above blogs I mentioned.
  • So start feeling the air :)

6. Start asking why?

  • When you are attending a lecture or reading anything, have a habit of asking why?
  • For e.g. Why we have to study “Strength of Materials” when most of us are going to write web applications in PHP or ASP.NET?
  • When you ask why often, you start understanding the logic, the reason behind doing anything.
  • Same as they have said in 3 Idiots, don’t learn to get marks but learn to know something, to achieve the excellence. When you start asking why, you start on the right path.

7. Understand computer hardware

  • Most people thinks this is boring and unnecessary.
  • May be it is, but it will certainly make you better programmer, even if you will never touch the inside of the computer again.
  • Basic understanding of hardware is necessary to understand how computer works.
  • You have to understand following 100% without any doubt in your mind.
    • How your high level programming code becomes 0s and 1s and execute?
    • The text which you are reading now is also consisting of 0s and 1s only then how come you are reading the alphabets here?
    • FYI I am still not 100% clear on this. But I will be one day. Till then I am not a good computer engineer.

I guess I have get you started here.

By following any or all of the above steps you are destined to become world class computer engineer. By no means I am asking you to stop whatever you are doing right now in your college.

These are additional things you have to do. It takes hard work to become world class right?

You are always on your own to achieve the path of excellence. Friends and Tutors can only guide you, they can not make you one.

I would request my fellow classmates to add points in this post. I believe our batch 99CE in Nirma Institue of Technology had one of the best and brightest minds in the world. Do you have any doubt? Well this guy is one of them. 99CE people are in MIT, Google, Apple, Barclays, Bank of America to name a few. They are spread across the world and are on their way to become future leaders.

I would also request people who have read this post and feel they can add something here to help students of computer engineering. My aim is to have great people coming out of Indian Engineering Colleges.

Last words, by no means above list is exhaustive and complete. There are “n” number of ways to achieve excellence. These are my personal views and I have learned them long and hard way. I hope to make your journey little easier by this post.
