The problem I have with all these windows 7 reviews is that they do not compare the new OS's stability and function with Vista. IE: Many of us who bought new computers with vista x64 installed experienced constant Explorer crashes. I do not mean IE(version number) but windows explorer would just stop working...even when you were not pushing the envelope on your system's resources...for no apparent reason...several times a day!! Also, the process manager is completely useless. XP's had some issues, but Vista's will flat out refuse to close programs, whether they are locked or not. Not to mention that to get there, you typically have to go through a screen that asks if you want to go to the process manager when you clicked the keys to go to the progress manager. Extremely redundant!

Can anyone who has experienced these common problems with vista running on a x64 system, who then upgraded(?) to windows 7 x64 shed any light on whether or not these unforgivable issues have been fixed? If not, windows 7 sounds like a hellishly expensive Vista Service Pack 3, to me.

<blockquote>"It takes personalisation to extremes."</blockquote>

No it doesn't. The author of this article has never used a Linux distribution. By comparison, Windows 7 is a child's toy. Yes, it works. Yes, it's better than Vista. Yes, I'll probably upgrade my XP box to it. But the thought that "it takes personalisation to extremes" is patently untrue.
